Ministry Of Local Government and Rural Development (MLGRD) has approved a sum of Two Hundred Sixty-One Thousand Kwacha -(K261,000) for 2024 CDF Secondary and Primary Boarding School Bursaries.
This comes after Lukulu Town Council submitted a list of applicants for approval to the Ministry of local Government and Rural Development through the Provincial Local Government office in Mongu.
A total number of 87 Pupils ranging from Early Childhood Education (ECE) to Grade 12 have been awarded the bursaries with each getting paid for a total amount of Three Thousand Kwacha – K3000 per year.
Also Worth noting is that, out of the 87 pupils a total number of 8 pupils are under Primary School Bursary for the Disabled, a latest inclusion as far as bursaries were introduced.
The 87 beneficiaries are all from Lukulu East Constituency in Lukulu District.
Some of the Schools to be attended by the beneficiaries include, Senanga School of the deaf, Mayukwa-yukwa Boarding, Serenje boys and lastly Lukulu Boarding having a bigger number of beneficiaries.
The local authority has since sent introductory letters to the mentioned schools so that the pupils do not have to leave lessons to come and pick up the letters.
