Lukulu Town Council Completed the Construction of two 1×3 Classroom Blocks (CRB) in Kan’oti ward. One was constructed at Libingi Primary School and another at Lishuwa Combined School.
Funded by 2022 Constituency Development Fund (CDF), the CRB at Libingi Primary was constructed at a cost of Six Hundred Fifty Two Thousand One Hundred Fifty Four Kwacha Ninety Six Ngwee – K652,154.96 by a contractor namely Harris Arc weld Zambia Limited.
On the other hand, the CRB at Lishuwa was funded by 2023 CDF and constructed at a cost of Eight Hundred twenty thousand Kwacha – K820, 000 by a contractor namely Brother Chinyama Enterprise.
Both classroom blocks will address the need for improved infrastructure in rural schools as well as classroom space shortages. The local authority will furnish the classrooms with desks from the 2024 allocation.
The classroom blocks were since handed over on 30th April 2024, by Honourable Christopher Kalila Lukulu East Constituency Member of Parliament (MP) in company of the District Council Chairperson Layson Malyachila, District commissioner Mr. Kelly Kapaku, Council Secretary Mr. Phinias Mtonga, Heads of Government Department, officers, Political party officials and the media.
