LIYOWELO COMMUNITY RECEIVES A HEALTH POST

Liyowelo Health Post
The community of Liyowelo in Mwito Ward were on Monday, 29th April in jubilation after a health post was handed over to them by Honourable Christopher Kalila MP.
The community could only access health care services in Luvuzi area a distance they covered for 2-3 hours walking. This was really a challenge especially to expectant mothers who could not reach Luvuzi facility in time during labour.
However, the community was happy that most of the challenges in relation to access of health services will be put aside with Liyowelo health post closer to them.
Representing the District Health Director, Mr. Bwalya said the Ministry was grateful for what Lukulu Town Council is doing through Constituency Development Fund (CDF) as the number of health posts being constructed in the district keeps increasing.
This meant that health services are being brought closer to the people.
He said the District Health Office is ready to deploy health personnel at the facility.
Funded by 2023 CDF, Liyowelo health post was constructed at a cost of Four Hundred Fifty Thousand Kwacha – K450,000.00 by Namuchau Construction and General Dealers.
