LUKULU TOWN COUNCIL ORIENTS CASH FOR WORK DATA ENTRY CLERKS 

The Local authority held an orientation workshop for data entry clerks at Sakutemba Hall in the first quarter.

The Local Authority engaged Cash for Work (CFW) data entry clerks in order to have timely data collection and presentation.

The training was aimed at equipping data entry clerks with more Knowledge on Cash for Work programme and especially how to capture data correctly in order to process payment for beneficiaries in time.

Officiating during the event, District Commissioner Mr. Kelly Kapaku advised the clerks to ensure that they listen attentively to the presentations so that no errors on CFW beneficiaries details will be recorded going forward.

He said when data is correctly captured, it will reduce on delayed payments arising from incorrect data such as unmatched names of NRCs and mobile money accounts.

He also advised WDCs Who were in attendance to see to it that CFW beneficiaries do tangible works so that the value for money can be seen and in the future they are able to point at what works they did under cash for work in their localities.

And Acting Director of Finance Mr. Kabeto informed the clerks to collect data from completed CFW forms and ensure that the data is validated and correct before being submitted to the council so that they have no issues with paying beneficiaries.

The Local Authority has funds to pay beneficiaries except that some beneficiaries are delayed to be paid as information submitted is incorrect.

However, this is why you data entry clerks have been engaged to change the narrative, He added

Speaking during the same event, Council Secretary, Mr. Phinias Mt’onga congratulated the data entry clerks for being appointed among others who applied for the position. He encouraged them to work hard and submit correct data and timely.

And Chief Imenda thanked President Hakainde Hichilema for the cash for work initiative aimed at mitigating challenges caused by droughts.

Speaking on behalf of data Entry Clerks Mr. Franco From Shizize ward thanked the Local Authority for the orientation that has empowered them with more Knowledge over the Cash for Work implementation and payment processes.

He assured the audience that even as they go back to their various wards the Clerks will work on reducing errors committed before.

The orientation was attended by Chiefs under BRE, Ward Councillors, WDCs and Officers from various Government Departments.
