Ministry Of Local Government and Rural Development (MLGRD) has approved a sum of Four Million Six Hundred Seventy Thousand Eight Hundred and Thirteen Kwacha -(K4,670,813) for Skills Development Bursary beneficiaries under the 2025 Lukulu East Constituency Development Funds.
A total number of 195 youths have been awarded the skills development bursary to pursue skill related courses such as driving, computer studies, electrical technology, bricklaying, food production, fashion and design and agriculture from different trade schools around the country.
The courses will be undertaken within a period of a month to 3years depending on each individual, with the lowest total tuition fee per Programme being K4000 and the highest K46,200.
This year the number of skills development bursary beneficiaries has increased compared to last year, indicating the overwhelming response being received from the district and the need to pursue skills related courses by youths.
The local authority is committed to ensuring that all deserving youths benefit from this particular component of CDF.
Most successful applicants have since collected introductory letters from planning departmentΒ and are in school.
