LTC has paid out a total of Two Million Three Hundred Thirty – Five Thousand and Two Hundred Kwacha – K2,335,200 to 3892 Cash for Work (CFW) Beneficiaries for the fourth circle.
The 3892 represents the number of beneficiaries allocated to Lukulu East Constituency per month.
All Beneficiaries receive a Six Hundred Kwacha- K600 per 10 working days except Data Entry Clerks who receive a One Thousand Eight Hundred- K1800 per Month.
Payments were made through bank transfers to beneficiaries βs mobile money accounts.
The Local authority has also noted a reduction in the number of errors committed previously in CFW data submission by the lower structures.
This is attributed to the recent orientation workshop conducted by Lukulu Town Council for data entry clerks whose main job is to verify and validate beneficiariesβ s information before payments are done.
So far, Lukulu Town council has paid out a total amount of Seven Million Three Hundred Ninety-Four Thousand Four Hundred Kwacha (7,394,400) to 12,324 beneficiaries since programme inception in August, 2024.
The local authority remains committed to ensuring that CFW beneficiaries get paid their dues in time once works are done and paper work is completed and validated.
We continue to encourage the WDCs and Data Entry Clerks to work hand in hand so that tangible works are done by CFW beneficiaries as well as making sure that correct data is submitted timely.
The Government introduced cash for work programme to address drought-related challenges faced by members of the community.
Through CFW monitoring and beneficiary engagement activities, we can attest to the fact that this programme has made a positive impact in Lukulu District.
