The FTC in Simakumba houses the Mechanisation 360 Centre of Excellence with equipment including:
Purpose: Hiring services to farmers with proceeds ploughed back to the FTC/Centre of Excellence for sustainability.
Promoting improved farming methods, distributing quality seeds, and providing extension services to enhance crop yields and productivity.
Encouraging conservation farming, sustainable soil management, and environmentally responsible land use practices.
Providing education, practical demonstrations, and technical support to farming communities for skill development.
Coordinating initiatives to improve household food security, nutrition, and sustainable food systems across the district.
Promoting water management and irrigation techniques to ensure consistent crop production throughout the year.
Facilitating farmer access to markets, improving value chains, and supporting agricultural entrepreneurship.
